Parmesan Garlic Chicken Burritos

Indulgent, cheesy burritos filled with garlic parmesan chicken and crispy fries – the ultimate comfort food fusion combining savory chicken, golden fries, and melty cheese wrapped in a crispy tortilla.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 burritos 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Parmesan Garlic Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into cubes or strips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic sauce (or similar)
  • Loaded Fry Components
  • 1 bag crinkle-cut frozen fries

Burrito Assembly

  • 4 burrito-size flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup white queso sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Components
  2. Cut chicken breast into small, uniform cubes or strips for even cooking. Cook frozen fries in air fryer or oven according to package directions until crispy and golden. Having everything prepped before assembly ensures a smooth process and prevents the tortillas from getting soggy while you’re preparing other ingredients.
  3. Cook the Chicken
  4. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Cook, stirring frequently, until chicken is fully cooked and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes. Make sure to cook until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for food safety.
  5. Add the Sauce
  6. Once chicken is cooked through, add just enough Parmesan garlic sauce to coat all the chicken pieces. Stir well and remove from heat. The sauce should lightly coat each piece of chicken without pooling in the pan, creating a flavorful but not overly wet filling.
  7. Prepare Tortillas and Queso
  8. Warm tortillas in microwave for 30 seconds or in a dry skillet until pliable. Heat white queso in microwave until warm and smooth for easy drizzling. Warming the tortillas is crucial as it makes them more flexible and less likely to tear during rolling.
  9. Assemble the Burritos
  10. Lay out each tortilla and start with a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese down the center. Add a portion of crispy fries, then the sauced chicken, and finish with a drizzle of warm white queso. Keep fillings centered in a rectangular shape to make rolling easier.
  11. Roll the Burritos
  12. Fold in the sides of each tortilla, then roll tightly from bottom to top, ensuring all filling stays contained. The cheese helps hold everything together. A tight roll prevents the filling from falling out during cooking and eating.
  13. Crisp the Burritos
  14. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place burritos seam-side down and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy all around. This step seals the burritos and adds a delightful textural contrast between the crispy exterior and soft interior.
  15. Rest and Serve
  16. Remove from heat and let cool for 1-2 minutes before cutting. Serve immediately while the cheese is melted and the fries are still crispy inside. The brief rest allows the cheese to set slightly so it doesn’t all run out when cut.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, use grilled chicken and baked sweet potato fries instead.
  • You can make your own parmesan garlic sauce by combining 1/4 cup grated parmesan, 2 minced garlic cloves, 2 tbsp mayonnaise, and 2 tbsp melted butter.
  • These burritos freeze well – wrap individually in foil and freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes.
  • For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley or chives to the chicken after saucing.
