Cream Cheese Filling

  • 130g of dairy-free cream cheese
  • 15g of gluten-free/plain flour
  • 15g of caster sugar + extra for sprinkling
  • 4 tablespoons of dairy-free milk

Topping

  • Fresh strawberries

Instructions

1. Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • Preheat oven to 180°C fan.
  • Line 2 large baking trays with greaseproof paper.
  • Unroll pastry sheet, leaving the baking paper underneath.
  • Use a rolling pin to flatten out wrinkles.
  • Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.

2. Make the Cream Cheese Filling

  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, flour, and sugar.
  • Transfer to a piping bag or spoon onto pastry.

3. Assemble the Danish

  • Place strawberry slices on cream cheese.
  • Brush edges with dairy-free milk.
  • Sprinkle sugar on edges.

4. Bake the Danish

  • Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden and flaky.
  • Allow to cool slightly and serve with icing sugar.
